Florida Institute of Technology is a private research university located in Melbourne, Florida. Florida Tech has five academic divisions with strong emphases on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Description: Florida Tech dorms are located on Florida Tech's campus, just steps away from the ELS center. They offer tranditional style dorm rooms, providing students the access to easily meet lifelong friends.

플로리다를 선택해서 갔습니다. 그리고 5주를 신청하였는데 미국으로의 연수는 모두 학생비자를 받아야 하더라구요( 미국비자 신청료$185 +SEVIS fee $350)를 지불해야하고 학생비자가 떨어지면 ESTA 전자비자도 받기가 힘든데 Florida Institute of Technology 대학은 ESTA 전자 비자 허용으로 선택하게 되었고 만족합니다.

반 수준 설명을 위해 배경설명을 하자면,
4가지 band 가 있고,
각 band 별로 3가지 level 이 있습니다.
저는 intermediate-105 로 시작했고요.
Beginner-int-master-advanced
해서 101-112까지 레벨이 있습니다.
처음 들어올때 듣기랑 리딩 시험 보는데,
점수가 반에 비해 높다고 혹시 너무 낮은
반 같이 느껴지면 말하라고 했습니다.
처음부터 높은 반은 잘 안줄수도 있고,
저는 오직 수능용 영어만 알아서
Speaking , Listening 이 부족합니다.
근데
grammer 랑 Reading, Writing 등
수능용 영어는 괜찮아요.
한국은 어쩔규 없이 실력과 매칭되는 반이
약간 괴리가 있을수는 있어요.
Reading, Writing, Grammer 에 치중되어서 공부가 되기때문에…
저도
Grammer, reading, writing 은
매우 쉽다고 느꼈고,
Speaking, Listening 은 적당하다고
느꼈습니다.
반 재편성을 요구할 수 있습니다.
이번주까진 해보고, 그 후
레벨을 올리고 싶다면 요청해볼 생각입니다.
한반 10-20명 정도 있고,
자유롭게 소통하는 분위기입니다.
우리나라 보단 어떻게 보면 예의가 없고,
어떻게 보면 자유로워서
좋은 부분은 있어요.
사람들 국적마다
수업 예절이 다르기 때문에
특정 나라 사람들 분위기가 있어서
싫어지는 나라도 있을수 있습니다 ㅎㅎ
그러나 다양한 나라사람들의
다양성을 존중하는 법도 배워가는거 같아요.
수업 내용에 의존하기보다는 좋은
친구들 많이 만나셔서 영어가 일상이
되셨으면 좋겠습니다.
3) 현지 생활, 적응
홈스테이
- 같이 ELS 하는 브라질인 두명과 같이
살고 있고, 나이 많은 할아버지, 할머니
밑에서 홈스테이 합니다.
각방이고 화장실은 저는 혼자쓰고,
브라질인 두명은 쉐어 합니다.
와이파이 신호가 잘 안잡히는건 아쉬워요 ㅜ 미국집이 워낙 크고, 말한대로
80대의 호스트기때문에 방에서는 원래
잘 안잡히는거 같아요.
저는 작성해야할 문서들이 많아
중요했는데, 이처럼 각자 중요한 사항이 있으면 중계해주시는 분께 말씀드리면
요청사항이 존중되어 조율됩니다.
차는 렌트가 꼭 필요하진 않을수도 있어요. 돈이 여유가 없고 10분거리의 홈스테이 집이라면 차가 필수는 아닙니다.
자전거를 구매해서 브라질 친구들은 다니더라구요. 저는 참고로 렌트 했습니다.
TURO 라는 사이트로 테슬라 FSD 되는거 구매했고요. 미국은 운전이 stop sign
에 반드시 멈춰야 하고, 하튼 우리나라랑
운전 규율이 다르고 딱지요금이 세기때문에 테슬라가 FSD 를 하는걸 보고 배우니
운전 규율을 학습하기 편했습니다 ㅎㅎ
차가 있으면 사실 날씨의 영향을 받지않고
학교에 갈 수 있다는게 아주 좋아요.
사귄 친구들과 어디든 놀러갈 수 있고요.
어학원에서 주말에 같이 디즈니월드를 가거나 하는 액티비티도 있다고 알고 있습니다. 참여하고 싶은 분은 그런 액티비티도
좋은거 같아요. 주변 환경은 되게 좋습니다. 캠퍼스는 완전 만족이에요. 예쁩니다.

는 누군가에겐 짧을 수도 있지만,
다른 누군가에겐 그 사람이 얼마나 노력했냐에 따라 큰 기회가 될수도 있습니다.
저는 짧은 기간이었지만, 꽤
많은 친구를 만나서 사귀었고, 많은 대화를 나눴고, 미국은 물론 다른 나라 출신 친구들로부터 문화적 차이를 느끼고
긍정적인 가치관을 배울 수 있었습니다.
무엇보다 외국인에게 말걸기 어려워 했던 제가 앞으로는 잘 해낼수 있을거라는
자신감을 갖게 해줬습니다.
1달 정도라도 무조건 안가는거보단 백배
낫다고 봅니다.
