I’ve taken General English Course in ECA linguistic institution.General English course is a standard program for students who are willing tolearn English. The program deals with daily life English to official language, including grammar, listening, reading, and pronunciation. I really liked thatthe program includes learning daily life English, because it is extremelyuseful and isn’t very difficult either. At the beginning, students take a leveltest in order to be placed in the suitable classes for their levels. There aretotal 6 classes, consist of the beginner class to advanced class. I started offwith beginner class. I wanted to work my way up to the advanced level. The lecturesinclude listening, reading, writing and speaking. There were also time for readingthe real newspaper that is published in Australia and discussing the issuesstudents deal with. This had a positive effect on grammar too. In morningclasses, this is how the class is carried out, and afternoon classes cope with moredetailed studies. I was worried about my listening skills, but in afternoonclasses, I had one-to-one speaking lessons, or focused on listening study. After each section, students take replacement test, and since I improved in ashort-term, I moved up to next level quite fast. Also there were options for accommodation; dormitory insidethe school, homestay or dormitory outside of the school. I chose to stay in thedormitory that is outside of the school. It is because I wanted to live nearerto the city, where I can hang out! There are disadvantages of staying herebecause students have to share everything and have to cook by his or herself. However,I highly recommend living here because I had more chances to meet foreignersand to make friends. This will help you improve in English. Plus, the schooland the dormitory are near the city, meaning it is close to museums, shoppingmall and other restaurants around town. Location of school is also a paramountfactor in choosing which school to attend. I was satisfied with everythingabout ECA linguistic institution.
