don Quijote Language School - MadridAbout the
don Quijote was established in 1986 as a language travel agency representing Spanish language schools. The company's single-minded dedication to service and quality fueled its rapid growth and the school quickly earned a reputation for innovation, personalized service and excellence. In 1989, responding to the growing demand for high quality Spanish language courses, the school began welcoming students to the first don Quijote school, in Salamanca. Since ounding, it has grown to 7 company-owned locations in Spain and Latin America and a network of more than 30 partner schools, largely through the recommendation of more than 150,000 satisfied students. At don Quijote, the watchwords are Quality, Innovation and Partnership. While the staff of don Quijote continue to lead - in academics, in value and in innovation - they continually seek out new ways to take the quality of their courses and their service to their students to the next level. The don Quijote Spanish school facilities are housed in the lower 3 floors of a historic building; they are spread throughout 1,800 square metres. The building was renovated so it could provide the most modern amenities, yet it still retains the charm of its typical Madrileño architecture. Thirty-eight classrooms fill 1,300 square metres of the school building. The Madrid language school also offers 500 square metres of common areas, including a comfortable seating area to relax between classes or chat with friends while enjoying a drink or snack from the school's many vending machines. A state-of-the-art computer room offers students easy and free internet access at any of the 20 computer stations, or can simply log onto the school's free Wi-Fi network if they have theirr own laptop.

DELE stands for Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera, or "Spanish as a Foreign Language Diploma". It is the only certificate for non-native Spanish speakers that is officially recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education. This diploma is of great international value for those who are going to study at a Spanish University and who want to work, or are going to work in a Spanish speaking environment. We advise everyone taking a long term Spanish course to take the DELE preparation course for a successful examination.
There are DELE preparation courses for each exam, according to the level of qualification (B1, B2, C1, and C2) that can be obtained at all the don Quijote Spanish schools in Spain and Latin America. Up to today, a very high percentage of our students have succeeded. This does not guarantee that you will successfully pass the official DELE exam, as this always depends upon various circumstances. However, we do guarantee you a high quality DELE Preparation Course.
The place and time of the DELE course are fully harmonized with the examination dates established by the Spanish Ministry of Education. Because of practical advantages most students take the DELE exam in Spain, although it is also possible to take the test outside Spain. The examination fees are set each year by the Spanish Ministry, the Instituto Cervantes and each examination center.

Accommodation
Homestay
Home stays offer students a unique opportunity to experience
Spanish life while living in the home of a local Spanish speaking family. Students
will speak Spanish all day long, out of necessity and fun and interest in the
family life they see unfolding around them. Accommodation in a host family allows
them to get the most out of their language course as it gives them a privileged
view of daily life in another culture. Students can
choose from a room with breakfast, half-board (breakfast and either a cooked
meal in the afternoon at about two o'clock or light dinner at ten) or
full-board (breakfast and two meals). Students will eat at local hours -
usually later than what they may be accustomed to- and students will eat local
foods, although the family will take their preferences into account as much as
possible. Students will be given their own house keys, so they can come and go
as they please. Students will also be able to receive phone calls at the family
home.
Apartments in Spain and Mexico for don
Quijote Students Students can choose to share
a student apartment with
four or five don Quijote students. In a student apartment students will prepare their own meals
and interact with don Quijote students of all ages and backgrounds. It is
recommended that students make a pact about speaking Spanish in the apartment;
other shared languages often take students away from Spanish language practice.
Although the student apartments are not very luxurious, they include all
the basic facilities: a bed, table or desk, chair and a closet wardrobe. Each
student apartment has a living room with TV, a fully equipped kitchen, a
washing machine and an iron. No telephones are available in student flats; we
suggest you use public telephones or local calling centers. Students share the
kitchen and the bathroom and, together, keep the house clean.
Spanish Student
Residences If looking for an inviting and well-equipped
stay just a quick walk from your classroom, the student residences may be the
ideal accommodation. The Spanish student residences have a youthful,
international feel and offer students all they will need in one building:
laundry facilities, TV, prepared meals or shared do-it-yourself kitchens, and
areas for studying and socializing. All of the student residences
offer individual, shared and triple rooms, shared TV, shared living/dining
rooms and washing machines. Bed linens are provided; it is suggested that
students bring their own towels, for maximum comfort.
