*People who wants to change their course or Level need to visit the Office on Thurday till 4pm. For changing the level you need to get permission from the teacher and pass the Level test.

The F+U Academy is close to the well known Ruprecht-Karls University of Heidelberg, it is Germany’s oldest university, ‘has once again asserted its leading position among universities in Germany as well as internationally’, and in 2018 upholds its reputation as one of the best-ranked universities in the world. The University library tops the prestigious BIX Library Index where, in each of the four assessment categories, it is ‘the only major academic university to place among the leaders - and for the sixth consecutive year’ (Heidelberg University in International Comparison, Heidelberg University homepage).
Many monuments bear witness to a diverse history. Overlooking the river Neckar some 70 metres below is the city's most famous landmark, Elector's Castle, standing on the slope of Königstuhl on its eponymous mountain. Its ruins belong to one of the most impressive sights to behold on any tour of Germany (in 2016, the castle was one of Germany's most popular destinations for international holidaymakers). Visitors climbing up to the castle first pass through the gate into the famous "Hortus Palatinus" garden, created at the beginning of the 17th century. From the castle garden, there is a breathtaking view of Heidelberg, including the Philosophers’ Walk, which lies on the opposite bank of the Neckar. Fascinating buildings dating back to a variety of epochs surround the inner courtyard.

기숙사는 학교와 도보로 8분 거리인 Marzgasse 26에 배치되었습니다. 학원 소유 기숙사 중 제일위치적으로 좋은 곳입니다. 학원과 가깝고 올드타운 중심부에 위치하여 가게들과 매우 인접합니다. 어학원은 중심지에 있고 클라스룸이 아주 많습니다. 영어도 가르치고 있어 독일어 영어 다 배울 수 있습니다 .다른 기숙사들보다 방 크기는 매우 작습니다. 주위 교통 수단으로는 Bismarkz 트램 승강장과 버스 승강장이 있어서 교통편이 좋은 편으로 하이델베르크 내 다른 지역으로 이동할 때 용이한 편입니다. 기숙사 시설로는 옆방 사람과 함께 쓰는 주방, 옆방과 함께 쓰는 샤워실, 옆방과 함께 쓰는 화장실 (2인 1개)로 구성되어있고 세탁실은 지하에 있어서 세탁물을 들고 올라왔다 내려왔다 하는 번거로움이 있습니다. 현재 저의 방은 건물의 끝에 위치하여 와이파이가 잘 터지지 않습니다. 학원 기숙사 사무실에 몇번의 이메일을 통하여 해결을 하려 했으나 끝내 와이파이 해결이 되지 않아 제 사비로 와이파이 증폭기를 구매하였습니다. 건물의 위생은 아주 좋은 편입니다. 건물의 낡은 감은 있으나 해충이나 오염된 곳이 거의 없습니다. 주 1회 정도 각 방 앞에 비치된 쓰레기통을 비우러 와주시는 청소부 아주머니가 계시고 샤워실과 화장실, 주방을 간단히 청소해주시고 가십니다. 학원 규칙상 10시 이후로 소음을 만들면 안되는 데, 이 점 또한 마음에 듭니다.
학교 수업에 대해서 말씀 드리자면, 저는 기초 집중반으로 A0수업으로 처음 시작했습니다. 학원 사정에 맞춰 수업 교실 건물이 매번 바뀌어서 애를 좀 먹었습니다. 아직도 계속 수업 교실이 바뀌고 있는 중이고 수업 건물 중 와이파이가 없는 곳도 있어서 폰으로 사전 검색이 힘든 곳도 있습니다. 수업은 1시간 30분 수업 후 15분 휴식, 1시간 30분 수업. 이런식으로 3시간 수업이며, 오전 9시 시작하여 오후 12시 15분에 끝납니다. 매일 (주말 포함) 학원에서의 액티비티 프로그램이 있습니다. 집중 독일어를 원하며 오후 추가 수업을 신청하셔도 됩니다. 주말에 타지역으로 여행가는 프로그램들이 있어서, 룩셈부르크 버스 투어 49유로 주고 신청하여 다녀왔습니다. 그 외에도 평일 저녁에 학원생들과 모여서 활동하는 것도 있고 학원에서 자습하는 프로그램 등이 있습니다. 룩셈부르크로 가는 여행 프로그램 참여했을 땐, 버스로 이동 후 투어 가이드 해주시는 분이 없고 투어 시간이 너무 짧아서 아쉬웠습니다만 학원생 친구들과 함께 타지역을 함께 편안히 여행할 수 있다는 점이 만족스러웠습니다.
위치는 정말 좋아요 ! 비스마르크 광장에 내리면 바로 보이는 위치입니다. 기숙사는 버스타고 15~20분 걸리고, 기숙사 배정은 랜덤인데 주변 친구들은 신축이라 깨끗한 방을 사용한다고 합니다. 저는 기숙사 바닥이 천으로 되있어서 제가 쓰는 기숙사는 개인적으로는 만족이 되지 못하긴 합니다. 학교의 스태프 분들은 정말 친절해요! 저는 영어와 독일어를 전혀 못하는 상태로 왔지만 대충 알아들을 정도로정말 친절하게 알려줍니다. 수업은 처음에는 아무래도 영어와 독일어가 안되서 많이 힘들었지만 클래스당 인원이 10명 이하이기 때문에 한명한명 꼼꼼히 봐주고, 오히려 독일 현지 선생님께 배우는 게 더 빨리 느는 것 같아요. 저는 스타트 반이지만 A2 업그레이드 버전으로도 설명을 해줘서 처음에는 힘들어도 더 많이 배우는 느낌입니다. 특히 수업을 시작하기 전 학생 한명 한명 질문을 해줍니다. 예를 들어 오늘 뭐할꺼니 ? 이런 질문으로 생활회화에 익숙해 지도록 도와주는 것이 가장 좋은 장점입니다.
그리고 저는 안멜둥(거주지등록) , 콘토(계좌) 둘다 했습니다. 아무래도 하이델베르크가 소도시 이기 때문에 안멜둥 하는데에 10분도 안걸렸습니다. 가서 알아서 서류 다 해주는 장점도 있고 테어민은 잡을 필요도 없었어요! 그냥 가면 알아서 해주는 장점이 있습니다. 콘토도 마찬가지로 저는 volksbank 에서 콘토를 개설했는데여권, 학생증, 안멜둥 서류만 가져가면 해주지만 아무래도 우리나라처럼 바로 나오지않고 저는 2주 걸렸습니다. 2주면 빨리 받은 편이라고 합니다. 여기는 관광객이 많다보니 다른 점에서도 외국 사람들에게 친절함이 많습니다.
그리고 버스 한달 정기권 학원 바로 앞에 있어요. 학원 주변 백화점, 슈퍼마켓 많아서 학원 끝나고 필요한 물건들 사거나 장보는 것에 큰 장점이 있습니다. 슈퍼는 특히 엄청 저렴해서 좋아요.
저는 독일로 유학가야지 생각만 하다가 안되겠다 싶어서 세종대학교 안에있는 유학원을 찾아가서 원장님을 만났습니다. 비자신청은 물론 학원의 주의점, 찾아가는법, 미팅예약 등 아무것도 모르는 저를 위해 하나하나 다 해주셨습니다. 독일에 오고나서도 아직도 도와주시고, 원장님을 못만났다면 저는 독일에 못왔을 거에요. 최미선 원장님께 너무 감사드립니다.
