Accommodation
Host Families Living in a homestay is especially beneficial as you have the opportunity to practise English in a family environment and experience multicultural British family life. Families are selected carefully and our families accommodate our students because they enjoy hosting international students. Our partner company for placing students with host families in London is Hosts International. Hosts International meets the standards for registration with the British Council as a provider of homestay and private home accommodation for adults(over 16 years) for accredited providers.
Residences Residences are based in Zones 1 & 2 in Central London.- Single and shared rooms are available.- Most are self-catering (No food provided)- Some are half board (provide breakfast and dinner)- Most provide cooking utensils in the communal kitchen areas- Some residences have private bathrooms, some have en-suite (private) bathrooms- Most residences charge a security deposit on arrival- Most residences provide bed linen (sheets etc)- All residences provide cleaners for communal areas. Students are usually responsible for cleaning their own room (and bathroom if en-suite)
Student Houses Student houses allow the freedom to enjoy the city independently, sharing a house with other students:- Single and Shared rooms are available- Kitchen with cooking utensils for students to prepare food- Laundry facilities to wash clothes (or near a laundrette)- Bathroom/s,- Living room (most houses have a living room but this is not guaranteed)- Sometimes a garden.- Most are located in zones 3 or 4 with good transport links to the school- All student houses charge a security deposit on arrival
Surrounding Area
London is one of the most exciting, cosmopolitan cities in the world and offers a year-round calendar of social and cultural activities to students. Shane Global London makes sure all students benefit from the activities London has to offer and our social programme is designed for students to enjoy both free and low-cost excursions. The London school is in Central London, next to Bond Street Station and the famous shopping area of Oxford Street and Mayfair. However, it has the added advantage of being in a quiet pedestrian street with lots of classy bars, cafes and restaurants.
Facilities
Our student study centre is fitted with computers, where the students can surf on internet, have a chat with their families, relatives and friends. Or they can study English online. Our cafeteria offers a selection of hot and cold food and drinks. The cafeteria has seating for over 30 students. The food is good and you will be able to find something to your taste whether you like pasta or want to try more traditionally English food!The cafeteria has a large plasma TV mounted on the wall so that students can catch up on the latest news and sport. Come here and socialise with your classmates and hear English spoken in all the accents of the world!
